Building Hope: A 2024 Reflection

As we near the end of 2024, we reflect on the impact made to prevent suicide and provide resources and hope to individuals and families. Advocating for mental health awareness and suicide prevention takes a collective effort, and we’re incredibly grateful that you’ve chosen to stand with The Kim Foundation and our mission. Our impact is significant, as 98% of the population we have served reported that they feel more comfortable discussing mental health. This demonstrates a reduced stigma as a result of our trainings.

This year, thanks to such generous support, we have been able to provide:

  • Suicide prevention education to over 6,000 people this year by way of nearly 180 presentations and 50 community booths
  • Postvention resources and support from the Metro Area Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) Team to more than 195 households, reaching roughly 800 people
  • Mental health awareness education to 540 youth at the EmPOWER Youth Summit
  • Continuing education content to more than 700 school personnel and mental health professionals at our State and Regional School Mental Health Conferences

While we are proud of the mission-driven work, suicide remains one of the leading causes of death in Nebraska. Our work is far from over, and your support ensures that we can continue to expand our suicide prevention and postvention programming within the community, and implement state-wide conferences and training for professionals.

Thank you for your unwavering support and being such a cherished part of our journey. Wishing you a warm holiday season and a prosperous new year!

With heartfelt gratitude,

The TKF Team: Molly V, Kerri, Molly W, Ashlee, & Natalie
