As part of our community outreach, The Kim Foundation is involved in many parent-teacher conferences in the spring and fall. The Kim Foundation is busy this week working resource booths at four different middle schools during their parent-teacher conferences. The booths provide an opportunity for parents to learn about the foundation and its 13minutes suicide prevention campaign. Lewis and Clark Middle School in OPS is holding its Spring Health Fair during conferences while the other middle schools in Bellevue and Papillion have various resource booths set up for parents. If your school is interested in our resource booth, please contact us at 402-891-6911 or info@thekimfoundation.org to set up a date and time.
The foundation also produces a monthly e-newsletter which is an informative piece that shows how we are connected in the community. It features articles from our Executive Director and our Project Coordinator, as well as spotlight articles from our grant recipients. It is a great way to stay informed about resources and events in the community. To sign up for our e-newsletter, please contact info@thekimfoundation.org or click here. The newest issue will be out next week!
In addition, The Kim Foundation’s website strives to increase awareness and promote education related to mental illness and suicide. There is a useful section on finding help not only in Omaha, but throughout the state and the country. We have a comprehensive listing of support groups and organizations that are available for adults as well as children. There is also a calendar of events that provides information on many events in the community and is continually updated. If you would like to publicize a behavioral health event, please email the foundation at info@thekimfoundation.org. The Kim Foundation works diligently to stay involved in the community by connecting people to resources and we welcome you to become involved with our efforts.
