Keynotes

Michael Vinton and Tina Chevalier of Impacted Survivors of Murder Suicide (ISMS), an organization providing support, education, and advocacy for those affected by murder-suicide loss, will present What Survivors Carry: Understanding the Long Shadow of Murder-Suicide Loss. Drawing from lived experience, survivor-informed advocacy, and emerging research, they will explore the stigma, unanswered questions, complicated family dynamics, and isolation survivors may face long after the immediate crisis has passed. The keynote will also address the often-overlooked grief of families connected to the person who caused harm and offer practical guidance for providing compassionate, survivor-informed postvention support.

Denise Meine-Graham of Postvention Consulting, LLC and the National LOSS Team website will present The Road Ahead: Strengthening the Future of the National LOSS Team Movement. Drawing on her extensive work in suicide postvention, Denise will share an overview of the current LOSS Team landscape, highlight the growing importance of statewide LOSS Team networks, and discuss the Certified Trainers and Consultants available to support teams nationwide. She will also provide updates on National Trainer Certification, celebrate statewide progress, and offer an encouraging look at the future of the LOSS Team movement.

Carla Patton of TAPS will share her personal journey of suicide loss. More information on Carla’s keynote address coming soon.
