The foundation is wrapping up 2017 and reflecting on an extremely successful year. We are humbled by the outpouring of support from the community and our partners. We truly could not do the work we do without innovative partners, brave souls willing to share their stories, schools that open their doors to prevention, and partners who believe in our mission. We are truly grateful for each of you who played a role in our growth this year.
As we look to 2018, we are planning to implement a more data-focused approach to help legitimize our efforts and accurately track where we are as a community with mental health and suicide. We will begin evaluating our presentations and trainings and continue to work with the Omaha Police Department, the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Department, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department to track suicide deaths in our community. We will use this data to target our prevention messaging and evaluate the impact mental health knowledge and awareness truly has on the community.
We are also looking forward to 2018 with excitement as Patrick Kennedy will join us at our annual Time for Hope & Healing Luncheon on October 16, 2018. We hope you will join us in welcoming him to Omaha and to hear his powerful message of the importance of quality mental health care and strong advocacy. Watch for more details!
I want to wish each of you a happy holiday season and a wonderful New Year! Celebrate and enjoy this festive time with friends and family and we hope to connect with each of you in 2018!
