2025 School Mental Health Champion Nomination

Each year at the Nebraska School Mental Health Conference we take time to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership and dedication to promoting mental health and well-being within the school community. Nominees should embody the following criteria:

  • Commitment to Mental Health Awareness — actively engages in raising awareness about mental health issues and proactively eliminates stigma among students, staff and the wider school community.
  • Leadership and Advocacy — Leads initiatives that support mental health and demonstrates a clear commitment to creating a safe and supportive school environment for all students.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork — Works collaboratively to enhance mental health resources and programs. Creates and nurtures partnerships such as those between schools, community organizations, mental health practitioners and families.
  • Impact on School Community — Has made noticeable positive impact on students mental health and emotional well-being.

Nominations for the School Mental Health Champion award can be submitted by teachers, staff, students or parents. The nominee does not need to embody 100% of the criteria listed above, but must made have an outstanding contribution to the mental health of the school community and is someone who inspires others to follow in their footsteps. Nomination deadline: March 10, 2025.

Note: The Middle America School Mental Health Conference will return to Omaha in Spring, 2026.
