Fall Presentations & Resource Booths

This time of year is a busy one for The Kim Foundation!  With the start of school comes the start of presentations to many students and school staff throughout the city.  Our presentations are catered to each school’s needs and can cover mental health, suicide prevention, or a combination of both.  In August, we were asked to present to the faculty of Creighton Prep.  Shortly after, we traveled to DeWitt, Nebraska and also presented to the faculty of the Tri County Schools.  We had the chance to present on mental health awareness to all the middle and high school students of Wahoo.  Half of our staff worked with the students while the other half of our staff traveled to Wahoo in the evening to present to the parents.

This past week, we were asked to present to all the students of Brownell Talbot in grades 5 – 12.  Their presentation included a panel discussion with suicide survivors and law enforcement.  Both the parents and the staff of Brownell Talbot were also given presentations from our staff.  Next week, we travel to Bellevue and present to all the 7th & 8th grade students at Logan Fontenelle Middle School.  We will also present for Papillion – La Vista Community Schools’ parent and youth suicide prevention event on September 14th.  Each of these presentations gives us the opportunity to share about suicide prevention and to arm people with useful information to help lower the suicide statistics in our community.  If your school is interested in a suicide prevention or mental health presentation, please contact us at 402-891-6911 or info@thekimfoundation.org  to set up a date and time.

This time of year also brings parent-teacher conferences to the schools.  As part of our community outreach, The Kim Foundation is involved with hosting resource booths at conferences.  The booths provide an opportunity for parents to learn about the foundation and our 13minutes suicide prevention campaign.  If your school would be interested in having a resource booth at your fall conferences, please contact us at 402-891-6911 or click here https://www.thekimfoundation.org/a-voice-for-hope-healing.html to schedule a date.

The Kim Foundation works diligently to stay involved in the community by connecting people to resources.  We welcome you to reach out, so that we may offer information, support, and hope to the  students and staff of your school
