Introducing the New Project Coordinator!

Hello there! My name is Katie Zimmerman and I am the new Project Coordinator for The Kim Foundation. I am thrilled to be here and to be a part of all of the great work The Kim Foundation does.

I graduated a little over a year ago with a degree in Communication Studies and Sociology from Central College in Pella, IA (Go Dutch!). After graduation, I worked for Aureus Medical, an affiliate of C&A Industries, on its social media team. I absolutely loved my experience there and learned so many valuable skills, but I had always been interested in working for a nonprofit. The opportunity became available here at The Kim Foundation and I am so thankful that I am able to help spread its mission of raising awareness on mental health and suicide prevention.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. My favorite thing in the world is being an aunt, so anytime I can spend with my nieces and nephew is time that I cherish. I also love outdoor activities such as running, hiking, playing sports, and fishing. I recently spent a week in Canada on a fishing trip with my brothers and dad and guess who had the biggest catch? I think my brothers are still a tad bit jealous. I am shamelessly a fan of puns and “dad jokes”, so I love hearing and telling those types of jokes!

That is pretty much me in a nutshell! I am beyond excited to see what my future holds here at The Kim Foundation.
