Launching Into a New Year & a New Website

With the end of December comes the time for resolutions, reflection, and change. The beginning of a new year always feels refreshing and exciting to me. The snowfall that we received this past week in the Omaha area has only added to that crisp, new feeling. The New Year is a great time to set intentions and goals, and that is exactly what we have done at The Kim Foundation. While our mission remains the same, The Kim Foundation has planned some big things for 2024!

I am so excited to say that we are starting off the New Year with the launch of our refreshed website! I encourage you to spend some time on our site, where you can admire our updates, but more importantly, where you can learn more about suicide prevention and mental health awareness. We have worked hard to make our website a source of hope and true help for anyone in need, so I encourage you to not only explore it, but to use it as a resource.

In addition to our new website, there is so much to look forward to from The Kim Foundation in 2024. We will host the Middle America School Mental Health Conference on May 29th and 30th at the CHI Health Center and the Nebraska School Mental Health Conference on May 31st at the Capitol District Marriott. Every year we are excited to endorse and promote strong mental health in our schools by hosting the NSMHC, and we are even more excited that we are expanding beyond Nebraska to host the MASMHC as well! Our early bird registration prices are available until December 31st, so register now to take advantage of our early bird pricing.

Another event we are excited about in 2024 is our annual event, A Time for Hope & Healing. This year, our annual event will feature John Ondrasik from Five for Fighting and will take place on September 12th at the Steelhouse! John will tell his story through music, and this part-concert, part-keynote event will take place in the evening. We are so excited to host John Ondrasik to spread the very important message of mental health awareness in our community. Mark your calendars because this will be one you don’t want to miss!

In addition to these events, our team will stay even busier with presentations and booths, Mental Health Awareness Month and Suicide Prevention Month initiatives, hosting the third annual EmPOWER Youth Summit, putting on our annual resource fair, and working tirelessly to serve as a compassionate voice for lives touched by mental illness and suicide. We are so grateful you’ve been there to support us in these efforts, and we look forward to working with all of you again in 2024!

Happy New Year!
