School Resource Fair & Community Outreach

This time of year is a busy one for The Kim Foundation! We were pleased to hold our School Resource Fair on September 19th at the Bellevue Lied Activity Center. The resource fair featured 38 organizations from around the community that presented to school staff about their behavioral health programs. The area school districts sent over 100 staff members to attend the fair. The members were able to network with various organizations and listen to formal presentations by each organization. It was a successful event and provided a unique learning experience for all involved!

With the start of school came the start of presentations to many students and school staff throughout the city. Our presentations are catered to each school’s needs and can cover mental health, suicide prevention, or a combination of both. In September, we were able to provide suicide prevention presentations to the 7th & 8th grade students of Logan Fontenelle Middle School. We also presented to high school students at Ralston High School, Millard West High School, Bellevue West High School, and Westside High School covering mental health and suicide prevention. If your school is interested in a suicide prevention or mental health presentation, please contact us at 402-891-6911 or info@thekimfoundation.org to set up a date and time.

This time of year also brings parent-teacher conferences to the schools. As part of our community outreach, The Kim Foundation is involved with hosting resource booths at conferences. The booths provide an opportunity for parents, students, and staff to learn about the foundation and our 13minutes suicide prevention campaign. If your school would be interested in having a resource booth at your fall conferences, please contact us at 402-891-6911 or click here to schedule a date.

The Kim Foundation works diligently to stay involved in the community by connecting people to resources. We welcome you to reach out, so that we may offer information, support, and hope to students and staff in your schools.
