Spread the Word: TKF’s Youth Advisory Council

We’re excited to share an incredible opportunity through The Kim Foundation for high school and college students: the Youth Advisory Council! This dynamic group of young leaders is helping to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and suicide prevention, and we want to get the word out to as many youth as possible.

The Youth Advisory Council meets monthly around the Omaha Metro area, offering students a chance to raise their voice, provide input on local mental health initiatives, and contribute to shaping the future of youth mental health support. We currently have 25 high school students actively involved, and we’re looking to expand and invite more passionate young people to join this important cause.

Upcoming Meeting: On April 13th, our Youth Advisory Council members will be gathering to earn their Be There Certificate, a free online course designed to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to support those struggling with mental health. They’ll also be brainstorming ideas for this fall’s EmPOWER Youth Summit—we need their input to make it the best one yet!

Meeting Details:

🗓 Sunday, April 13th
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
📍 Project Harmony Campus, 11825 Q Street

This meeting is open to all high school and college students, whether they are already members of the Youth Advisory Council or not.

How can YOU help? Please share this announcement with any high school or college students you know who might be interested in joining the Youth Advisory Council or attending this event. We want to continue to empower youth in making a difference and creating a lasting impact on mental health in their communities.
