Spring in Action: Brighter Tomorrows Across Our Community

As we recognize Mental Health Awareness Month this May, it’s a meaningful time to reflect on the connections, conversations, and impact happening every day through our Brighter Tomorrows programming. This spring has been full of opportunities to meet people where they are—sharing tools, building awareness, and creating space for honest conversations about mental health and suicide prevention.

From classrooms to conferences, workplaces to community events, our team has been on the move. Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:

  • Linda led our interactive Growth Mindset training with staff at the Latino Center of the Midlands
  • Molly W presented Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace at the Nebraska Association of Radiologic Technologists Conference in Grand Island
  • Ashlee facilitated a workshop on stress and mental wellness at a community event co-hosted by Molina Healthcare
  • Molly V and Ashlee shared about our programs and initiatives at B-CON (BHECN’s Annual Conference)
  • Molly W spoke with 7th and 8th graders at St. James/Seton School about mental health, self-care, and healthy friendships
  • Allison, Kerri, and Molly W connected with students and staff at a Hope Week resource booths at Papillion La Vista and Millard South High Schools
  • Linda facilitated several Our Minds Matter meeting at both Central and Benson High Schools
  • Our team even took to the streets to march in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade

In addition to these highlights, we’ve delivered multiple suicide prevention trainings, led a breakout session on youth mental health at Project Harmony’s Speaking of Children conference, and hosted a number of resource and calm kit booths across the community.

And we’re not slowing down!

Looking ahead, our team will be presenting at the Nebraska Juvenile Justice conference in Kearney and Omaha Cares’ Mental Health Summit, along with continuing to bring suicide prevention and workplace mental health trainings to organizations across the metro, finishing the month with hosting the Middle America School Mental Health Conference.

Every conversation matters. Every connection builds momentum. And every step forward brings us closer to a community where no one has to navigate mental health challenges alone. See photo gallery below for some highlights!
