The Kim Foundation Update

It’s hard to believe May is already coming to a close! Things here at the foundation are really heating up as summer is quickly approaching. Our team is getting ready to co-host our first ever Nebraska School Mental Health Conference with ESU #3 and several other steering committee member organizations in Kearney on June 11th & 12th. More than 400 Nebraskans will join together for a jam-packed day and a half event. The conference will feature three national keynote speakers and 35 breakout sessions so there is bound to be something for anyone who has an interest in this field. There is still time to register for the conference! Click here to register today.

The Kim Foundation is also adding a part-time position of a LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team Coordinator for the Metro Area LOSS Team. The individual will work approximately 20 hours a month, have an on-call phone, and must be a suicide survivor or have lost a loved one to suicide. If you are interested, please email me a copy of your resume and cover letter to jhebenstreit@thekimfoundation.org before June 3rd.

Our 13 Minutes campaign has expanded and is hitting new outlets throughout town. You’ll start to notice bright yellow bus benches in six different locations in the Omaha metro area. The campaign’s public service announcement will be airing in movie theaters during the previews, and digital marketing has stepped up to new levels on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, as well as Spotify. We also have new promotional items coming! So if you are in need of some, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the foundation office and we will make sure to get some to you. For more information on the campaign, please visit http://www.13minutes.org/.

I hope that each of you have a safe and wonderful summer! This is always such an exciting time of the year when we get to go out and enjoy some warm weather and sunshine, be with loved ones and friends, and take some time to relax. Here at the foundation we will still be “in session,” so please let us know if you need anything at all!
