The Kim Foundation visited OMNI Behavioral Health last month and had the opportunity to meet with Megan Riebe, the Director of Outpatient Services. OMNI was established in 1993, is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and is designed to provide community-based behavioral health and child welfare services.
OMNI offers a variety of mental health services including office and home based psychotherapy, intensive family preservation services (IFP), eating disorder clinic, and community treatment aide (CTA).
Nearly 90% of their therapy services are home-based and only 10% are office-based. Some of the issues their therapists are trained in include but are not limited to: symptoms of abuse and neglect, suicidal thoughts and attempts, juvenile behavioral problems, drug and alcohol issues, mental health of emotional disruptions, family relationship problems, parenting skills development, school problems, independent living skills training, and social skills training. There are several ways an individual can go about requesting these services. Intensive Family Preservation is a 15-week therapeutic team approach that provides families with skill-building interventions within the home. Families referred may have severe mental health issues, abuse & neglect issues, or youth with serious emotional and behavioral disturbances. Treatment is available for adolescents and adults, females and males who are diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, an Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified, and Binge Eating. An evaluation will be conducted by a Licensed Therapist and Registered Dietitian to determine which services are necessary. Community Treatment Aide (CTA), services are supportive and psycho-educational interventions provided primarily in the youth’s natural environment. CTA services are expected to improve the youth’s level of functioning within their environment and to enhance the caregiver’s ability to manage the youth’s symptoms related to their mental health or substance abuse diagnoses.
