After the amazing turn out we had at the Film Streams showing of “Running From Crazy,” The Kim Foundation, in partnership with Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska, will be hosting a special showing of French-Canadian director, Xavier Dolan’s, “Mommy,” this Thursday the 19th at 6:30pm. Following the film will be a panel discussion.

Eight teen year old Conrad Roy II, died by suicide in July. In a strange twist, his girlfriend is now being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

LOSS Team Coming to Metro Area

We held our first community involvement meeting for the Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors (LOSS) team that will be coming to the metro area. Nebraska currently has existing teams in Lincoln, Norfolk, and Kearney. The Kim Foundation is very excited to lead the effort of this crucial program for our area, and are grateful to Region 6 and the many community partners who have come together to help us make this possible.

Prescription Drug Monitoring Bill in NE

Last Wednesday, Senator Sara Howard presented a bill that is one near and dear to her heart; prescription drug monitoring.
Six years ago Senator Howard lost her older sister to a prescription overdose. Following a terrible car accident, Carrie Howard became addicted to prescription drugs and was in and out of the hospital, and substance abuse centers.
