Upcoming Highlights in 2024
While I may be biased, our team is full of rock stars who kept the ball rolling on all our events for the year! In addition, we are excited to welcome our newest program director, Molly Mullin Verble! I think it is fair to say that 2024 is going to be another busy one for the foundation!
Try Volunteering!
Volunteering is not only a great opportunity for giving back to the community but can also be beneficial to the volunteers themselves. Volunteer work can look many ways and there are tons of great opportunities to volunteer wherever you live! It’s something that can be tailored to your lifestyle and provides a wonderful opportunity to explore new interests, listen to stories you may have never heard, and it offers a method of giving back to others.
Singles Awareness Day
Tomorrow will mark an unofficial holiday that is celebrated on February 15th every year— Singles Awareness Day (or Singles Appreciation Day). Falling on the day after Valentine’s Day, this day is meant to define that happiness doesn’t depend on a “better half.” Some people may think that celebrating singleness is unnecessary, but it’s an important aspect of self-care!

When ‘New Year, New Me’ Feels Like ‘Same Grief, Old Me’: A 10 Step Guide to Coping With Grief in the New Year
Journaling to Improve Health
Do you have a goal to start journaling in 2024?
A common answer I hear when asking what people do for self-care is journaling. As we’re approaching the new year, you may have a goal to make journaling part of your daily routine in 2024.
You may have a preconceived idea of journaling that makes it seem silly or childish. Trust me, I get it. Thoughts of your childhood diary come rushing in with sticker filled pages and goofy thoughts about love and friendship. Or maybe you have tried journaling in your adult life and have struggled to stay committed to making it a part of your life.
Grief & Loss Over the Holidays
To some, holidays are the most wonderful time of the year! You can cozy up under a blanket with a Hallmark movie on and a cup of hot cocoa in hand, surrounded by your family. Sounds great, right? The idea of it is great, until the empty seat next to you brings on the heartache to realize that a loved one won’t be joining you this year for the holidays. As great as the holiday season seems, it can also be some of the most difficult days for those coping with a new normal without a loved one by their side.
