Summer Mental Health
It’s hard to believe that June is here and school is out for the summer. Along with three months of freedom from school, summer can be a time when certain mental health issues are prevalent.
Metro Area LOSS Team Monthly Update
At this month’s Metro Area LOSS Team meeting, we welcomed Julianne O’Keefe with Ted E. Bear Hollow to speak with our group about talking to children and adolescents about death by suicide.
Understanding Attachment Styles
Have you ever wondered why some people act a certain way in relationships; jealous, paranoid, insecure, needy, or assertive? We have all known someone whose relationships are always full of drama. Why is this? It could be that they are finding themselves attracted to people who simply have a different attachment style, which can cause friction in a relationship if not worked through as a couple.
What A Month!

While most people who drink are mild to moderate drinkers, nearly 16.6 million or seven percent, of adults in the United States 18 years old and over, have an alcohol use disorder. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, alcohol related deaths account for nearly 88,000 deaths each year, making it the third leading cause of preventable deaths.
The Kim Foundation . . . What’s Our Story
Recently we attended an anti-bullying assembly done by a local group associated with R5 Productions. It touched on many different topics including depression, anxiety, and suicide. It was at a local high school, and the energy in the room as the production staff got the assembly started was palpable.
